About Me

Jennifer Boehm

While this site is dedicated to me as a professional, I would like to pause and let you get to know me more personally.

I am married to my wonderful husband Ted, we have been together for 15 years! Through Ted, I have a step-son, Evan, who is in the Navy. In addition, we have two children together, Ben (6) and Daisy (3.5), who keep us very busy. I love to go camping with my family and we enjoy road trips. In fact, my husband and I drove to Vegas to get married, continued to San Diego, spent time in Yosemite and Sequoia then traveled back to Michigan via Route 66, it was amazing! During the summer of 2018 Ted and Ben had the opportunity to be campground hosts, and the four of us have been returning as hosts during July at the Rifle River Recreation Area.

In addition to spending time outdoors with my family. I also enjoy reading any genre of fiction books, however, I am fond of dystopian novels, science fiction, and historical fiction. One of my favorite book trilogies is The Passage by Justin Cronin. My other hobbies include sewing and baking. I love to watch The Great British Baking Show for inspiration. Besides baked goods, my favorite food is pasta, prepared anyway.

You could say that I am a little crunchy, or a hippie, what art teacher isn’t?! My family is vegetarian, and we love growing an organic garden each year. If we can keep the kiddos from eating all the fruit, we love to make preserves. My students are always in shock to find out that I do not own a microwave, but heat all my food up using the oven, stove-top or toaster oven. I am very concerned about the environment and the effects humans are having on the Earth. I am one of the teacher-leaders for our schools’ green team.

Well, that is me in a nutshell. I hope that you were able to get a glimpse of my passions outside of teaching and creating art.
